Jayapura, May 11, 2025 — A solemn and heartfelt atmosphere enveloped the Sunday morning service as several families presented their children to God during the special Child Dedication Ceremony officiated by the pastor. In this ceremony, three families dedicated their children before the congregation and the Lord, as a sign of faith and commitment to raising them in God's ways.
THREE CHILDREN BLESSED IN THE HOLY CEREMONY
The first child presented was Alsaki Berilam Hudi Maniagasi. In his prayer, the pastor asked for divine protection and the breaking of any generational curses. "You have entrusted this child to the family, and today they return him to You. Protect his body, soul, and spirit. Make him a child who fears the Lord and a witness within his family," he prayed.
In addition to Alsaki, two other children, Julia Ester Amote and Algito Meni Hendrik Mote, were also prayed for. The three received blessings in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, along with prayers for protection during their growth. The pastor also prayed that they would be equipped with talents and divine gifts and shaped into a generation that fears the Lord.
“Keep them from all harm, Lord, protect them with Your power,” the pastor proclaimed in faith, as he entrusted the Mote family into God's hands to guide the children with love and Christian discipline.
TABITA HOSANA GABRIELA ASOM ALSO DEDICATED TO GOD
The fourth child blessed was Tabita Hosana Gabriela Asom. In his prayer, the pastor declared that Tabita belongs to the Lord and asked for God's grace and protection to accompany her life. He prayed that Tabita would grow to be a faithful witness of God and a blessing in the family.
“May this child be endowed with talents and gifts,” he said, “and may God use her as an instrument in His hands.”
PARENTS' AND CONGREGATION'S COMMITMENT STRENGTHENED
During this moment, not only were the children blessed, but also all the parents present had their faith reaffirmed. The pastor specifically prayed for the families of *Maniagasi, **Damhudi, **Pedius Mote, and *Musa Aso, asking that they be granted wisdom and loving hearts to raise their children in faith in Christ.
“May they make a personal decision to receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior,” the pastor stated.
The ceremony concluded with praise and joy from the congregation, affirming the hope for the future of the children who had been prayed for, as a generation that will stand firm in faith and be a light in the world.
“I know whom I have believed,” the pastor concluded, “and I am convinced that He is able to guard what has been entrusted to Him until that day.”
